Winning a battle here is often a matter of choosing which problem to ignore. Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Force combines fast arena combat with missions spread across wider maps. The campaign revisits Universal Century conflicts through short briefings and battles built around pilots, warships, bases, and capture points. Some encounters focus on a direct two-on-two clash. Others ask for several objectives to be handled at once, so defeating the nearest enemy is not always useful. That mix creates a more tactical PS Vita game than a standard Gundam arena fighter.
The Campaign Shares Space With Straight Two-on-Two Battles
Extreme Force is the main campaign, with Aire and Tereno connecting battles from the One Year War through Gundam UC. Story missions award GP for repairs, upgrades, new stages, and additional Mobile Suits. Some stages assign a machine on the first attempt, then open the selection screen during a replay. Free Battle removes campaign objectives and creates a simple match against CPU opponents. Course Battle strings several CPU fights together and offers another source of GP. These modes are useful for testing a newly unlocked suit without managing distant bases or allied teams.

Command Mode Turns the Map Into a Second Fight
Force missions place one two-suit platoon under direct control, while other CPU teams and sometimes a warship wait for orders. Command Mode sends them toward a chosen enemy or point on the map. Captured posts become closer respawn positions and begin sending smaller allied units forward. Force Points can pay for repairs, attack bonuses, shorter return times, or a warship’s Force Attack. The system creates a constant tradeoff. Stay with the current duel, and an exposed base may fall before the enemy suit does. Open the command screen too often, and the target in front may punish the delay. This pressure is the game’s clearest difference from the usual Gundam VS match.
The Download Opens to a 1.39 GB PKG
The USA release of Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS Force Rom is in English and comes as a ZIP archive. The ZIP is only the download container. After extraction, the archive reveals a 1.39 GB file in .pkg format. That .pkg file is the package to import into Vita3K, not the ZIP itself. Install the PS Vita firmware and Font Package before importing it, since Vita3K needs both for game setup.
