Uncharted: Golden Abyss Rom PS Vita

Sully’s fall leaves Nathan alone just before Dante’s mercenaries fire a rocket on the road to Quivira. Built for PS Vita and playable through Vita3K, Uncharted: Golden Abyss Rom shifts between motion aiming, touch-based melee, and clue puzzles.

Aiming and Tightropes Use the Same Motion Hardware

Traditional controls handle much of Nathan’s movement, yet the Vita hardware enters at specific moments. Tilting the system adjusts weapon aim and steadies him while crossing a tightrope. Close combat is stricter. Screen swipes are mandatory during melee, and some exchanges unfold through directional prompts similar to quick-time events. Some puzzles uncover clues through touch, while others use the screen to adjust mechanisms. Rear-touch input controls zoom in the weapon camera view.

The Canoe Section Leaves the Ledges Behind

Levels move through jungles, temple ruins, caverns, and guarded encampments. Although progress is linear, some stages split into more than one path. Nathan crosses broken ground by following ledges and jumping between platforms formed by the environment. Other sections remove the footing entirely. He swims through bodies of water, and one river section places him at the oars of a canoe.

Silent Takedowns Sit Beside Rocket Launchers

A quiet approach can remove enemies through stealthy takedowns. Open combat sends Nathan behind cover, where he uses precise aim or blind fire. Weapons collected during play include pistols, machine guns, shotguns, grenades, and rocket launchers.

Irradiated Gold Is Still Valuable to Dante

The story takes place before Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and opens at a Panama dig site. Poisoned conquistadors and a Visigoth grave marker pull Nathan and Marisa into Vincent Perez’s research on Sete Cidades. Dante paid Guerro for access, while Guerro expects treasure money for his conflict. Guerro later captures Marisa and takes the Sword of Stephen. Sully is injured in a fall near the temple, forcing Nathan to continue alone. Charcoal rubbings from the sword eventually form a map toward Quivira. Inside the Golden Abyss, a Geiger counter traces the gold’s radiation to nearby uranium deposits. The same poisoning killed Quivira’s population, and de Niza misdirected Coronado to keep him away from the contaminated gold. Dante intends to sell it anyway. Marisa seals the cavern with explosives, then throws away the amulet that opened it.
