Troubleshooting: Quick Fixes
- Error that kills the computer on boot: Go to the most recent Citra build → check the ROM hash, then turn off modifications and texture packs. delete the shader cache and then restart.
- Freeze on Mega Evolution: Accurate Multiplication = Safe/Off → Resolution Scale = 1x–2x → clear shaders → relaunch.
- Black screen / no audio: Hardware Renderer ON → Enable Shader JIT ON → Audio Stretch OFF → update GPU drivers (Windows).
- Low FPS on Android: Close background apps → set Resolution Scale 0.75x–1x → Use .3DS file → enable “Use hardware renderer”.
- Save not detected: Ensure same title ID on both devices → copy the exact save folder path from Citra saves to target device.
- Controller mapping: PC: map in Citra > Controls. Android: map in Settings > Controls; enable “Use external controller”.
