Inazuma Eleven 3

Back in 2014, a lot of players got hooked on Inazuma Eleven 3 because it mixed RPG elements with football gameplay in a way that was not very common at the time. It did not feel like a normal sports game and it did not behave like a classic RPG either. It sat somewhere in the middle, and that middle space is exactly what made people curious.

If you want to play it today, the usual method is to download the Inazuma Eleven 3 ROM and run it through a 3DS emulator. Most people go for Citra, mostly because it is simple to set up and it plays the game smoothly enough. The ROM files usually come in two formats, .3ds and .cia. There is nothing complicated about choosing between them. You just pick the one your emulator supports better. And of course, the legal thing is to own the original copy of the game.

The version called Inazuma Eleven 3: Team Ogre Attacks! came out a bit after Lightning Bolt and Bomb Blast. It keeps the same general feel, but it does shift a few details. You still control Mark Evans, and the main goal is to work your way through the International Football Frontier Championships so your team can claim the world title.

One thing that stands out while playing is how you move from place to place and end up in matches without a big fuss. The stylus controls feel a little strange at first, but after a short while they become second nature. When one of your players bumps into an opponent, a quick duel pops up to decide who keeps the ball. It is a small mechanic, but it adds a nice rhythm to the matches. You can also recruit new teammates, which is honestly one of the more enjoyable parts of the experience. Team Ogre brings in a different storyline, a few special moves, and a small twist that gives this version its own identity.
